The more our differences become the punchline, the easier it becomes to recognize how much we have in common.”

CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Tahaa Kahn is a New York-based Pakistani-American comedian whose stand-up is shaped by an upbringing spanning Pakistan, Turkey, Germany and the United States. His comedy draws on the shared experiences of navigating different cultures, religions and identities, finding humor in the moments that connect people across backgrounds.

Kahn brings his nationally touring stand-up show, "72 Virgins," to The Den Theatre in Chicago on Friday, August 14. His stand-up blends storytelling, deadpan humor and cultural observations drawn from a life spanning four countries, exploring family, faith, relationships and the realities of life between cultures.

"I grew up across four countries, but the funniest moments have always been universal," Kahn said. "Family, relationships, awkward conversations and trying to find where you belong."

Kahn's debut comedy special, "Halalarious," received the 2025 Evergreen Award for Best Comedy Special by an Immigrant Comedian in the USA. "Halalarious" is available on multiple FAST television platforms, including FawsomeTV, Amazon Fire TV, Relay and The Stand-Up TV Channel, as well as major audio streaming services. His latest comedy special, "72 Virgins," is also available to stream.

Before releasing "Halalarious," Kahn advanced to the semifinal round of NBC's 2019 Diversity Stand-Up Competition, won the 2022 Funniest in Hospitality competition and has shared the stage with comedians including Jim Gaffigan and Sammy Obeid.

Beyond performing, Kahn serves as a UNICEF ambassador and runs Comedy For Good in partnership with UNICEF. The touring stand-up initiative directs its net proceeds to UNICEF projects supporting children and families around the world.

"Comedy is my magnifying glass," Kahn said. "It helps me examine faith, identity and politics, then bring people together through laughter."

Kahn said audiences often discover that the experiences separating them are smaller than they imagined.

"The more our differences become the punchline, the easier it becomes to recognize how much we have in common," he said.
